The discovery of a new and exciting stone on a fishing trip to Baja, California provided the impetus for the "Nature Series," Eino's largest body of work to date. Through these pieces the artist sought to express, in form, nature's unsurpassed artistry. Working with the Onyx yielded unexpected surprises -- mysterious crevices, colorations and shapes, waiting for direction from his skillful hands. In creating this series, Eino developed a dynamic relationship with the medium. The Onyx itself, had a language, and dictated to the artist its own expression. The sculptures that emerged from his hands embodied a physical brilliance, while retaining the simplicity of their origin.
